This free-form stoneware soap dish is made by hand in Gastonia by Bluegill Pottery and imprinted with our state flower, the dogwood.
Bluegill Pottery’s Vicki Gill has made nature-inspired pottery for more than 20 years. She was first exposed to pottery while majoring in painting and drawing in college, and she renewed her interest in clay after moving to North Carolina. Vicki finds inspiration in North Carolina’s natural beauty and unique pottery history. She often decorates her work with images of leaves and flowers, which she stamps onto the clay. Vicki creates her own glazes, which she layers to complement her designs. She has lived and worked in Gastonia since 2004.
