Resembling a large clam shell, glazed in a custom "ocean blue" color, and formed with organic ridges and dips, this large pottery bowl is as pretty as it is functional. It sits elegantly on the table to hold fruit or serve a colorful salad.
Mark Jon Koepnick has traveled the world searching for inspiration for his pottery. After learning the art of ceramics in high school, he became a production potter in California. He voyaged to Australia and Utah, among other places, creating pottery along the way. For the past 15 years, Mark has developed his talent further in Seagrove, the pottery capital of North Carolina. To express his love for the Carolina coastline, Mark developed custom-mixed glazes called “ocean blue,” “seafoam green,” and “beach sand” for his line of sea life pottery. Mark keeps studios in Carolina Shores and Seagrove, and he surfs and fishes when he’s not making pottery.
Made in North Carolina.
