This stunning plate will make a bold statement on your table. Handmade in Matthews by Addison Pottery, the architectural imprinting on the interior mimics the patterns of stained glass windows, and the entire plate is finished with a matte ivory glaze.
More than 15 years ago, while working as a high school chemistry
teacher, Nancy Addison participated in a grant project with Charlotte’s
Mint Museum, teaching the relationship between science and ceramics. The
resident potter let her throw clay on the wheel, and she was hooked.
Nancy has since taken studio classes through Carolina Clay Matters Guild
and an intensive course in hand building and texture at the John C.
Campbell Folk School, which heavily influenced her style. She works from
her home studio in Matthews, where she works on both wheel-thrown and
hand-built pieces. The colors, shapes and textures of the changing North
Carolina seasons influence her work.
Made in North Carolina.
