Hand-turned from cherry, maple, and walnut woods, these little houses are the perfect size for nesting hummingbirds to lay their tiny eggs. Each house varies slightly in size but has a 1" opening. These versatile houses also make darling holiday ornaments, fairy garden decorations, and more. Choose from two available designs: Textured and Waving Grains.
Hummingbird chicks typically return year after year to start their own families. These wooden houses are made to withstand the elements when placed in a protected area and brought inside each winter, and will age well over time. Instructions are included to help entice a hummingbird to each house, but results are not guaranteed.
Our Hummingbird Houses are made by Shop II Woodworks. Jerry Measimer moved to Richfield in 1985 after serving in the US Marine Corps. His work in construction led to a love of woodworking, which he began in 2007. Today, he’s a member of the American Association of Woodturners, and you can see him on the internet or in person demonstrating woodturning on the lathe. He uses all natural wood finishes, and his pieces are meant to weather beautifully with age. He still lives and works in Richfield from his refinished farmhouse.
